This appointment is especially beneficial for babies who have recently undergone a frenectomy (tongue, lip, or buccal tie release) and need additional support for optimal healing and functional improvement.
Common Focus Areas:
Oral motor exercises to strengthen feeding muscles
Gentle bodywork to reduce tension and improve comfort
Support for better latch, sucking, and swallowing coordination
Guidance on ongoing at-home therapy practices

What About Insurance?
While I’m not directly in-network, many families are reimbursed by their insurance partially or fully after submitting the Superbill I provide. I’m happy to walk you through that process.
Why am I not in-network?
Because the state of Louisiana doesn’t currently allow RN, IBCLCs to contract directly with insurance companies—even though we’re licensed and qualified. I provide a superbill to help you seek reimbursement.
More Information on Insurance Reimbursement
Lactation care is a covered benefit—legally mandated by the Affordable Care Act.
As a private pay patient, you’ll receive a Superbill to submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. While coverage varies by plan, many insurance companies do reimburse for lactation services.
I encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly to understand what your specific plan includes.
You have the right to expert feeding support for both you and your baby. Don’t hesitate to advocate for the care you deserve.
